In A Jam
8 cups sliced fresh strawberries
4 cups sugar
The juice from one orange
Zest from one orange
1 Tbs freshly ground pepper
2 Tbs balsamic vinegar
Place all ingredients in a large, heavy pan and stir. Let sit for an hour, stir again and then heat the pot slowly until boiling. Have sterilized jam jars ready to fill with jam. Boil jam until it will jell in the fridge. Fill jars with jam, put lids on lightly, allow to cool, then tighten the lids.
